Frank Scura

Frank Scura is the Founder and CEO of Ecoresolutions, as well as Co-Founder and Executive Director of Action Sports Environmental Coalition (ASEC). He has spent the last 20 years as a marketing agent, sales representative and company owner in the Action Sports and Sustainable Industries, and wrote and produced one of the first major network Action Sports lifestyles TV program for Fox Sports Net (Invert TV).

Eco Resolutions is a sustainable consulting, sourcing and marketing firm that provides sustainable roadmaps and strategic guidance for corporations seeking environmental transition.

ASEC is a youth based, non-profit coalition that specializes in progressive eco-education that works to inspire the Action Sports industry – surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX and more – to value and take action toward social and environmental responsibility. They believe in the empowerment of youth through mediums that children can relate to.

ASEC was formed by a group of leaders within the industry who wanted to utilize their industries power, to empower future generations to make healthy conscious decisions. In addition to Scura, ASEC's founders include Pro skateboarders Bob Burnquist, Jen O'Brien and DC Shoe, founder and VP Damon Way.

In 1994, ASEC in association with ESPN, leading media and merchandising corporations, non-government organizations and action sports heroes implemented a groundbreaking move to help turn X Games X into a more environmentally conscious place to be.

Eighty-two percent of America's nearly 12 million skaters are 17 years old or younger, in an industry that generates $5.2 billion annually – ASEC has an amazing opportunity to educate these kids. Today these kids are able to learn through an interactive forum where they have an opportunity to meet Action Sports heroes that support sustainable practices and healthy food choices – making healthy snacks cool, and sustainable practices hip (and a top priority). Scura knows that the children are our future, and has a gift for speaking their language ... he speaks, and they listen ... they relate to him.

ASEC has pioneered initiatives that have lead to the construction of skateparks made with sustainable wood materials approved by the Forest Stewardship Council, and are surfaced with eco-friendly composites of water, recycled paper, and cashew oil. ASEC also has a "Give Back" program, which donates skateparks to communities that cannot afford to provide alternative outlets for their youth.

Scura believes that by utilizing this interacative educational medium, expedient healing of the culture, and the Planet as a whole, can truly take place.

ASEC kids!
