Water Wisdom Plastic Marine Pollution 2:45p.m.

- Dr. Marcus Ericksen and Anna Cummins Join these two respected members of the Algalita Marine Research Foundation as they share about their eco adventures studying plastic pollution in the North Pacific Gyre. Learn first hand from these experts what you can do to make a difference.
In an effort to raise awareness about the growing plague of plastics polluting our oceans and their widespread devastation to our environment, these two researchers, along with sailor Joel Paschal, built a JUNKraft out of 15,000 plastic bottles and a Cessna 310 aircraft. In 2008 the two men embarked on an 88-day trip, sailing the vessel from Long Beach California to Hawaii where they escaped four hurricanes, almost ran out of food, and caught a fish with 17 pieces of plastic in its stomach!
All celebrities, performers and speakers are subject to change, or cancellation due to life circumstances.
